Ashley G. Tignor lovingly known as Miss Ashley has been dancing since she was 2. She is a Wake Forest, NC native. She was under the direction of Traci Weaver at Dance Dynamics in Wake Forest, NC. Ashley started competing at the age of 10, winning numerous awards in different categories. Ashley has danced in different genres which include Jazz, Ballet, Tap, Hip Hop, Lyrical, Modern, Tumbling, and Contemporary. Ashley started assisting classes at age 11 in many of those styles. She loves kids and believes in finding herself in the service of others. She started a Hip-Hop dance team while at Rolesville High School and was captain of the team as well, she choreographed 4 pieces with different elements of Hip Hop, Step, and Majorette dance. She won several awards from the community and the school for those pieces. Since graduating high school she has done choreography for Universities across the East Coast. Ashley is also part of The Breakthrough Movement an organization for provoking change positive and inspiring action through culturally relevant art, dance, and theatre. She’s a firm believer in believing in your goals because they were given to you for a reason. She hopes to provide a space for young minds to excel in dance but also in life itself. Passion is a driving factor for Ashley and her goal is for those young minds to build that passion as well. Ashley is a Full-Time student at Vance-Granville and hopes to transfer to UNC-Greensboro so she can work towards her Master’s degree in Dance Education. Ashley is currently crowned Miss Rolesville 2021 and National United Miss Tar Heel State. Ashley next title she is working for is Miss United States. Ashley’s ultimate goal is to become a Studio Owner/ All-Star Cheer Gym Owner. Ashley is excited to be a part of HDI and looks forward to educating the next generation.
