Shircola Powell

Shircola is a native of Raleigh, North Carolina. She started dancing at the age of 3 at The Vereen’s School of Dance, in Wendell, NC, where she trained in all genres of dance. She graduated from Broughton High School in June 2007 and went on to attend the University of North Carolina at Charlotte where she received her BA in Criminal Justice and Minor in Women and Gender Studies. In 2014, Shircola attended law school at Florida Coastal School of Law in Jacksonville, Florida. She graduated with her Juris Doctorate in 2017 and went on to practice law. In 2020, Shircola relocated back to North Carolina, where she started her own law firm. Later, Shircola obtained her license to practice Real Estate and became a dual career professional as an Attorney and Realtor. Throughout the years, Shircola has taught dance at other dance studios, coached and choreographed for two majorette dance teams, and also taught liturgical dance at her home church, Mt. Peace Baptist Church. Shircola is also a retired NHL Cheerleader for the Carolina Hurricanes. Shircola joined Heather’s Dance Inc in 2022. She teaches hip hop and lyrical and previously also taught jazz at the studio. Shircola enjoys working with the kids and expanding on their dance skills and fundamentals, and having a great time with her students. In her free time, Shircola works with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Wake County as a Board of Director, is an extreme fitness enthusiast, and enjoys spending quality time with family and friends. Shircola has a passion for dance and working with children and is able to fill that passion with the work she does at Heather’s Dance Inc.
