Megan Shepherd

Instructor
Megan Shepherd is a graduate of East Carolina University, having earned her Bachelors of Fine Arts in Dance in 2019. A Durham, NC native Shepherd began her dance training at the age of 6 under the Direction of Nina Wheeler. Dance was always Shepherd’s passion and her love for the art grew as she got older. During Shepherd’s time at East Carolina, she was given the opportunity to perform works by John Dixon, Teal Darkenwald, Tommi Galaska, Marissa Nesbit, and guest artist Matthew Lynady. While Shepherd focused on performance for much of her dance training she did not shy away from teaching. Having an influence on young lives is something Shepherd is very adamant about, and she hopes to have an impact the way her teachers and mentors did on her as she was growing up. Currently Shepherd is in her second year of her master’s program at East Carolina studying Biomechanics and Motor Control. Shepherd hopes to continue working with dancers in the field of dance science and has hopes of starting her professional dance career simultaneously.
